Laterite is a firm rooted in Africa and specializing in research for social impact. Our mission is to carry out research that helps decision-makers find solutions to complex development problems. We’ve honed our experience for over 13 years in East Africa, with an approach that’s structured, data-intensive and embedded in the local context. Founded in Rwanda in 2010, Laterite has since expanded across East and West Africa. Today, our team consists of 92 full-time researchers and data experts, based primarily in Africa, and a roster of 2,500 trained local enumerators across the countries where we work.

At EDI Global, quality is in our DNA. From conducting in-depth quantitative and qualitative research to designing and implementing impact evaluations and providing comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning services, we are dedicated to producing evidence that is relevant, robust and reliable. Our solutions inform evidence-based decision-making, promote learning and innovation, and contribute to sustainable development outcomes. Our work is primarily focused on East Africa, but we also provide global research and technical support on multi-country studies to a diverse range of partners. EDI Global has implemented MERL projects across a wide range of international development sectors, including those that are FCDO and USAID priorities, including agriculture, education and early childhood development, migration, trade, health, environment and climate change, private sector development, and social protection.
